News about Port Ludlow events and residents is available from the following sources. Out of area subscriptions are available for part time residents and for people who are considering Port Ludlow for their next home. The Port Ludlow Voice is the primary source of news about Port Ludlow events. It is a monthly publication that is distributed free of charge to all residents in both the North Bay and South Bay. The contents include features and news of general interest to all residents and regular reports from the Ludlow Maintenance Commission; South Bay Community Alliance; the developer, Port Ludlow Associates; the Port Ludlow Village Council; and several special interest groups such as the Arts Alliance, Coast Guard Auxiliary, Community Enrichment Alliance, Golf Groups, and the Yacht Club. The current and back issues are available from the Port Ludlow Village Council's web site at http://www.plvc.org/plvoice.htm. Out of area subscriptions to the Voice are available. The cost is $6/year for homeowners and $15/year for all other subscribers. Port Ludlow Voice The Ludlow Maintenance Commission (LMC) Log is a quarterly newsletter which is distributed free of charge to members of the LMC. It is mailed free of charge, but members are encouraged to receive it via email. The LMC Log is primarily a source of news and information about the management and operation of the Beach Club and the Ludlow Maintenance Commission. The current and back issues of the LMC Log are available from the LMC web site at www.lmcbeachclub.com/news/ The Port Townsend Leader is a weekly newsletter which comes out every Wednesday and is delivered by mail. The Leader's news and feature articles are centered on Port Townsend since Port Townsend is the only real city in East Jefferson County. However, the Leader also reports on events in Port Ludlow and the surrounding communities such as Chimacum and Port Hadlock. The Leader also reports on country government, and whatever happens in Port Townsend can affect Port Ludlow, so many Port Ludlow residents subscribe to the Leader. If the events or meetings you are interested in occur on a Thursday or Friday, you need to make sure you get a copy of the Leader on the day it comes out because otherwise most of the time you won't know about the meeting until after it happens. Some news is available on the Leader's web site at ptleader.com/ Port Townsend Leader The Peninsula Daily News is a daily newspaper which serves the north Olympic Peninsula of Washington State. News and features cover both Clallam and Jefferson Counties, and span from Forks on the west around to Quilcene on the east. The Peninsula Daily News is a good local paper, and often does a better job of covering club social and philanthropic events than the Leader, but that is probably at least in part because they come out more often. Delivery is available both by mail or local carrier. You can get a taste of their publication from their web site: peninsuladailynews.com/ Peninsula Daily News Many Port Ludlow residents also subscribe to newspapers in Seattle, such as the Seattle Times and the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. |
